Per Betty Gamble, John Mautz sold the land on which the Lutheran Cemetery of Marion, OH is now located. (50 feet east of SR98 and 72 feet south of CR 148, 75 acres) Per History of Marion, 1907 (www.genweb.net/~leesue/MHF.html): "John Fetter, father of Michael, was born in Germany, where he was reared and learned the shoemaker's trade from his father. He was married to Elizabeth Lynn in his native land and continued to work there for some time at his trade, afterwards coming to this country with his wife and one child. He first located in Marion, Ohio, and worked for about three years at his trade and then bought a tract of 15 acres of timberland in Richland township. At that time the township was still in an unsettled condition although more thickly peopled than the country still farther north. He continued to work at shoemaking until about 60 years of age, after which he devoted his time exclusively to farming, having acquired a little more land in the meantime. His death occurred May 17, 1899, at the good old age of 81 years, 7 months and 3 days, his wife having died some time previously. "He was married to Elizabeth LYNN\LINN on Apr 5 1844 in Germany.8
