NOTES FROM: Joyce Appelfeller Rarick: Thank you so much for adding the Roux family history to your web site. As you know from my earlier e-mail regarding Georg Heinemann (sp?) that I am a Roux descendant; Stephan and Justina Geisler Roux are my great-great grandparents. Sitting in my family room is their 30-gallon Picking Co. copper kettle in which they made apple butter and other good stuff. Just recently my aunt, Virginia Greenwood, sent me copies of portraits of Stephan and Justina that O. M. Roux of LaRue has in his possession. I remember my great-grandfather, Charles Stephen Roux, quite well, and, especially his and his brother Otto's fine Victorian homes near DeCliff. Two parlors, big dining room, a downstairs bedroom, two staircases, wrap-around porches on these fine Victorian homes. My great-grandfather's home was torn down to make way for Paul Schaber's present home on LaRue-DeCliff Rd. I still miss that house

Thank you also for the Loeffler/Leffler genealogy. Sandy Columber, who lives near LaRue on Dry Lane Rd., called me a week or so ago and asked me to look for Michael Leoffler family history for her. I found several things, and, then, bingo, I checked your website and found that you had also added Michael's ancestry to your website. You made my day, and I can't tell you how thrilled Sandy was when I called her. I printed it and sent it to her (she's not online) along with all the other stuff I had found. She should have received it yesterday, and I know that she is extremely appreciative of the fine work you are doing for all of us with Marion County connections.

Granddaughter of Harold Stephen Roux and Lois Susan Caroline Dickason Roux, Charles Stephen and Martha Jane Mattox Roux, Christopher and Christina Hines Mattox, Jacob and Lydia Lewis Mattox, Eben and Sarah Priscilla Clark Mattox, Benjamin Gitto and Mary Susan Cram Britton, James and Joanna Cram, William Britton, Sr., and Sarah "Sally" Britton, William Britton, Jr., and Sarah James Britton, Isaac and Margaret Martin Dickason, Joseph and Lois Little Dickason, Isaac N. and Inez Leona Britton Dickason, Lyman Little, William H. and Susan Caroline Cranmer

P. S. As you can see, my lineage descends from the first settlers of Marion County, not to mention first families of Ohio. :-)
