Wilhelm Witzel Jr., a young lady whose name is illegible on the records, and Mrs. Johanna Rosina Fisher. Maria Theresa, her husband Johann Kramer and their baby boy, came with her parents, the Bosse family, to Richland Twp., Marion Co. Ohio in 1836.
She was married to Johann Wilhelm KRAMER on Dec 25 1830. Johann Wilhelm KRAMER1 was born on Mar 27 1803 in Germany. He died on Sep 1 1880. Johann was alinen weaver's apprentice in Eckartsberga, Germany, where he became a citizen at the age of 29. Because of their poverty and the ecconomic recession in 1834, he came to the U.S. with his wife and 1 year old sun, Gustav and his wife's family. They settled in Richland Twp., Marion., Ohio. On Jan. 12, 1838 Johann bough 80 acres of land from John Phillip Robitzer for $250. The deed was recorded in Vol. 1, page 92 at the Marion Co. Recorder's office. It describes the land as the east 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of section 27, Twp 6, south of range 16 in the district lands subject to sale at Bucyrus, Ohio. This farm was located a short distance down the country road from Therese's folks, the Bosses. The land was originally granted to Jacob Jurtz by the U.S. government and then sold to Jacob Heimlich for $398 in July of 1847. In 1962, Jacob's grand-daughter-in-law, Mina Heimlich, still lived in the old house built in 1860. During a visit to the aged lady, she graciously rummaged through her possessions and found the old yellowed deeds which included the yellowed sheep skin which was the originl land grant to Jacob Kurtz and signed by the President of the U.S. Andrew Jackson. During the early 1840's, the Kramers lived in Montgomery Co., Ohio near Springfield, where several of their children were born. On Oct. 13, 1847 they bought 80 acres of virgin land in Crane Twp., Wyandot Co., Ohio from Nathan Peters for $400. It was located some 2 miles east of Upper Sandusky, Ohio. (In 1962, this land was turned into part of the clover leaf onto the #30 bypass around Upper Sandusky.) In 1847, however, John Kramer and his son, William Henry, began the arduous task of clearing off this land and building a home for the family. The land was rich and fertile and the Kramers prospered. Maria Theresa BOSSE and Johann Wilhelm KRAMER had the following children:
14 i. Godhart KRAMER Deceased - details unknown.
15 ii. Frantz KRAMER Deceased - details unknown.
16 iii. Christian KRAMER History unknown.

Francis is buried in Duvall Cemetery, Ansonia, Ohio. He came to Richland Twp., Marion Co., Ohio with his parents in 1836 and worked along side his father operating the saw mill on their property. In later years he worked as a watch "tinker," repairing clocks and watches, a craft he may have learned from his father-in-law.
He was married to Maria Louisa EBENSTINE on Oct 5 1851 in Marion Co., OH. Maria Louisa EBENSTINE1 was born on Jul 13 1828 in Saxe, Germany. She died on Nov 6 1864 in Darke Co., OH. Maria's tombstone states that she died on 30 Nov 1865 at 37 years. She is buried in the Duvall (Deeds) cemetery near Ansonia, Darke Co. Ohio beside those of her two oldest children. Her youngest children, a set of twins, are probably also
buried near her. Samuel Francisius (Franz) BOSSE and Maria Louisa EBENSTINE had the following children:
24 i. Marie BOSSE1. Infant deceased.
25 ii. Frederick W. BOSSE1 was born on Jan 22 1855. He died on Aug 29 1856.

He was married to Susan MILLER on Apr 9 1867.
She was born at 9 a.m. and was baptized on Sept. 7, 1820. Her godparents were: H. Frederich Hubner, her uncle and barber Mrs. Caroline Christiana Gentzesch, wife of Mr. Gentzesch, the painter. Mrs. Johanna Maria Rohrmund, the wife of Ferdinand Rohrmund.
At age 14, Louise came with her family to the United States and in the 1840 Federal census she is listed with her parents in Richland Twp., Marion Co. Ohio. She celebrated her 15th birthday while on the trip into Ohio from Germany.
Louise ailed severely just before she died from paralysis, on April 5, 1898 at age 78 years 6 months and 2 days. She had become deaf but loved to read her Bible, prayer and song book and just a few days prior to her death, she asked to take communion and requested that she read her own liturgy. At her funeral, her friends crowded the church. The pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, Rev. Rudolph Ebert, preached in German and English, taking his texts from Psalms 62:6-9 and Hebrews 4:9-11. Both Frederich and Louisa were buried in Windfall cemetery. In those days, they were buried consequtively in rows, in the order that they died. Family plots were unheard of. So it is quite a coincidence that Louisa was buried at the feet of her husband, in the middle rear of the cemetery. The inscription on her tombstone is in German, badly weathered and unreadable. Above it at the top of the monument is engraved a Bible and the open gates of Heaven. Louisa mothered 9 children, 3 of whom died in infancy and at a young age, 23 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Frederick Adam GECKLE (GECKLE) was born on Feb 14 1815 in Bernback, Neuenburg, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wuerttemberg. He died on Sep 23 1887 in Richland Twp., Marion Co., Ohio. The known Geckle (pronounced Geck-ley) family history begins with Johan Adam Geckle who was born in 1720 in Bernbach, Neuenburg, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany. His wife Maria Rosina Kull.Their son Georg Adam Geckle was born on Aug. 2, 1746 in Bernbach, and married Maria Margaretha Groner (1746-1800). They had 6 children. Their oldest son, Georg Frederich was born on June 6, 1773 in Bernbach and married Johanna Tedermann who was born in 1776. They had 6 children, the youngest who was Adam Frederich or Frederich Adam who was born in Bernback on Feb. 14,1815 in Bernbach. Georg Frederich and Johanna Geckle immigrated to America in 1836. Twenty seven year old (Adam) Frederich soon met other recent immigrants, the Bosse family....and their pretty daughter Louisa who he would marry. They settled in Marion Co. Ohio. He is buried in Windfall Lutheran Church yard on Newmans-Cardington Road E., Marion Co., Ohio. He was a blacksmith and a farmer and had a penchant for buying land. On April 12, 1842, Frederick purchased 40 acres of land from Titus King for $180. It included the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4, section 23, twp. 6, range 16 in Richland Twp. and he probably made the trip to Bucyrus to the land office to purchase this land. It was located just a few miles from the home of August Bosse, he future father-in-law. Ten days after this purchase, on April 22, 1842, he married Christiana Louisa Bosse. The marriage records in Marion courthouse records list the bride as Louisa Buzzard (a clerical spelling error!). Throughout the following years, Fred Geckle purchased the following land: June 16, 1852 25 acres (14-6-16 from John Dick for $188. March 18, 1853 80 acres (13-6-16) from F.A. Ruhrmund for $200. January 29, 1859 2 acres (13-6-16) from John Wise for $50. October 10, 1863 26-2/3 acres (13-6-16) from Mr. Wise for $635. January 23, 1865 75 acres (14,15-6-16) from Wm. Witzel for $2000. There is an interesting story concerning this purchase. Fred heard that Mr. Witzel wanted to sell this land and he also learned that a neighbor wanted to buy it and had mailed the money to Mr. Witzel in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. If the money reached Mr. Witzel, the deal would be clinched. Fred Geckle
wanted that piece of land also and so he started out walking.....from Richland Twp. in Marion Co. to Upper Sandusky, a distance of about 30 miles, carrying the price of the land. He walked all night and arrived at 11 o'clock the next morning, just a few minutes before the mailman arrived. Unaware that a letter of purchase and the purchase money was on its way - Wm. Witzel sold the land to Fred. On February 25, 1868 4 acres (12-6-16) from Fred Zepple for $1700. October 19, 1872 8 acres (11-6-16) from Daniel Bader for $4400. April 27, 1880 60 acres (1,12-6-16) frp, Gel. Hock for $2100.
At Fred Geckle's death there remained only 120 acres.(W 1/2 of SE 1/4 11-6-16 containing 80 acres more or less. Also N 1/2 of NE l/4 of NW 1/4 of 14-6-16. Also E 1/2 of SE 1/4 of NW 1/4 of 12-6-16 - in all 120 acres more or less.) It appears that he had sold the balance of the land before that time. We did not trace each piece of land in the old records, but it is known that he sold some of it to his sons. On March 10, 1875 he sold 40 acres to his son Henry Francis Geckle for $1700. land that he had paid $180 for 33 years earlier.
Frederick and Louise were members of St. John's Lutheran (Windfall) Church near their home. He is listed on the communion record as early as 1839. The 1860 Federal Census records the family as follows: Frederick Geckley 45 farmer, real estate value $1600, personal estate $450, born in Wurtemburg, Germany. Louisa 40 born in Prussia Mary, idiotic, born in New York 23 Frederick 21 farm laborer Louisa 17 William 15 Francis 12

The inscription on his handsome tombstone reads Gestorben Den 23 Sep 1887 Alter 72y 7m 9d Selig Sind Die to Den Die En Dem, Herrn Sterben "Blessed are those that die in the Lord" Frederich Geckle had no will but the following was probated: William C.
