FIRST GENERATION

1. Adaline TUCKER1 was born in 1818 in St Lawrence County, New York.2 She has reference number 2504.

SECOND GENERATION

2. Adin TUCKER3,1 was born in 1790 in Vermont.4,5 He died after 1873 in prob. Sauk County Wisconsin. He has reference number 2502. 1820 St. Lawrence County, Saratoga Township, 1820, wife and three daughters. Nearby: Elias Tucker b. 1794-1804 and wife same. 1830 New York census, St. Lawrence County, Stockholm Twp, age 40-50, wife, five daughters.

Adin Tucker got a Michigan land warrant on August 14 1837. He didn't make it to Michigan, cause he was in Delaware County, Lincoln Twp, in 1840 with wife and five daughters. Nearby in Westfield Twp is Ira Tucker with wife, one daughter, two sons. Moved to Cardington Village sometime before 1850, where Emily died in his house in 1852. Moved west of Loganville following Emily's death, by 1853. Found in 1860 Sauk County WI Census, Washington Cty, Logansville (where Adin, his grandson, married Almira): Adin b 1790, Judith b. 1787 NH, Harriet Jones 8 b. OH, Lewis Wright 9 b. Ohio. An Ynez or Yure (f) Tucker b. 1850 WI is living in home of D. S. Clay, 42, from Vermont. "Cemetery Inscriptions of Sauk County" Vol 2 says Adin and Judith are also in the 1870 census. Also says Dearholts are buried in the Tuckertown cemetery. A daughter died August 1854 and is buried in the cemetery (In Town of Delton, Sauk 1860, a J. Tucker b 1820, Physician b. Vermont, and wife Mehitable b 1821 New Hampshire, and kids born NH and Wisconsin. from History of Morrow County, 1880, p 348: "The Christian Church was a very early organization in Cardington ... in the winter of 1842, this society held a union protracted meeting with the Protestant Methodist Church ... in addition to Benjamin Grandy and his wife, Parley Cady and wife, Adin Tucker, wife and daughters, ... united with this church."

From 1929 "The History of Reedsburg and the Upper Baraboo Valley" by Merton Krug: "The United Brethren Church at Tuckertown, now supplanted by a Lutheran Church, was organized about 1868, and the meetings were held in private homes. The first Pastor was Rev. George Hickey. In 1876 a frame church was erected at the point known as Tuckertown, and was dedicated the last Sunday in June, 1877. ... John Shoup, Nelson Blood, William Blackburn, Levi Purdy and Philip Apple. Aden Tucker donated the site."

On Town of Washington page: "Mr. Aden Tucker and family came as early as that year (1853) also, for it is known that a daughter, Miss Jane Tucker, taught a private school in her father's house in 1853. The Tucker family located in the valley west of Loganville, near the head of Narrows Creek, and the community known as Tuckertown takes its identity from its pioneer settler." He was married to Judith [TUCKER] about 1816.
