FIRST GENERATION

1. Sarah "Sally" YEAZEL (SMITH)was born on February 24, 1798 in Wheeling, Ohio Co., West Virginia. She married Hugh V. Smith on Dec. 9, 1819 in Clark County, Ohio. She died on April 25, 1890 in Grand Twp., Marion Co., Ohio. She was buried on April 27, 1890 in Deal Cemetery, Salt Rock Twp., Marion Co., Ohio.

SECOND GENERATION

2. Abraham YEAZEL was born on April 29, 1774 in Of Hampshire Co., Virginia. He died on January 2, 1832 in Moorefield Twp, Clark Cty, Ohio. He was buried in Yellow Springs, Green Co., Ohio. !CLARK COUNTY, OHIO HISTORY 1881 page 676 "In 1810, Abraham Yeazel and his wife Mary, natives of Virginia, who settled in Clinton County, Ohio at an early day, came to this Township (Moorefield), settled in southeastern part. They had fourteen children, seven of whom are now living, Sally, David. Jacob, Elizabeth, Abraham, Sidney, and James. Mr Yeazel died January 2, 1832 and his wife Sept. 22, 1828, and the family is one the best known and most extensive in Clark County. Abraham Yeazel was born in Va. Apr 29, 1774 married 7th of Oct 1794 to Mary Curl born Oct 30, 1776. Politically he was a Whig he served as a Justice of the Peace. He was married to Mary CURLE on October 7, 1794 in Hampshire Co., Virginia.

3. Mary CURLE was born on October 30, 1776 in Hampshire Co., Virginia. She died on September 22, 1828 in Moorefield Twp, Clark Cty, Ohio.

Abraham YEAZEL and Mary CURLE had the following children:

i. Mary Ann YEAZEL was born on June 19, 1796 in Virginia. She was buried in 1858 in Deal Cemetery, Salt Rock Twp., Marion Co., Ohio. She died on March 7, 1858 in Salt Rock Twp., Marion Co., Ohio. Mary Ann and Mahlon Marsh moved to Salt Rock Township, Marion County, Ohio. They are buried in the Deal Cemetery, Salt Rock Township. She left children.

iii. George YEAZEL was born on February 14, 1799 in Wheeling, Ohio Co., West Virginia. He died on January 17, 1868 in Moorefield Twp., Clark Co., Ohio.

iv. William YEAZEL was born on December 4, 1800 in Wheeling, Ohio Co., West Virginia. He died in 1862 in Moorefield Twp., Clark Co., Ohio. He was buried in Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, Clark Co., Ohio. !William Yeazel W.P. 9/19/1862

vi. David YEAZEL was born on June 5, 1804 in Yellow Springs, Green Co., Ohio. !History of Champaign County, Ohio 1881 David Yeazell, farmer; P.O. Mechanicsburg; an early settler of Goshan Township; was born in June, 1804, near Yellow Springs, Greene Co., Ohio, and raised in Clark Co., till the fall of 1826, when he came to the place where he now resides, locating the 15th of December, in the house in which he now lives; he is the son of Abraham and Mary (Curl) Yeazell, the former a native of Kentucky, and the latter of Virginia. Abraham was among the early pioneers of Greene Co., whence he moved to Clark Co., when our subject was quite young; he dwelt on the same farm the remainder of his life; he was a farmer by occupation, and reared nine sons and five daughters, all of whom grew up to maturity and were married. Our subject was the sixth of the family, and his early life was that of a pioneer farmer. Since 1826, he has plied his industry as a farmer in Goshen Township, taking a creditable part in the improvement of the country for over half a century. He married Esther Bumgartner, born in Greene and raised in Clark Co. Of the two sons and two daughters born to this union, one daughter has died.

vii. Jeremiah YEAZEL was born on January 16, 1806 in Clinton Co., Ohio. He died on January 16, 1861 in Moorefield Twp, Clark, Ohio. !Clark County History 1881, Jeremiah and wife, lived on rented farms for seven years, then bought a piece of land upon which they resided about eleven years, when they built the large house which has been the family home since the spring of 1845. They started in life poor, but by their own labor had accumulated a good competency, when death severed the union, Jeremiah dying Jan. 16, 1861, upon the day he was 55 years old. Politically, a Republican, he was a man well known and respected, and was a representative member of one of the leading families of Clark County. His widow, with the help of her faith full children, added to the estate left by her husband until she was the owner of 558 acres of land under good cultivation, with fine improvements, which constituted a beautiful home for her in her declining years.

viii. Catherine YEAZEL died before 1881. She was born in Clinton Co., Ohio.

ix. Jacob YEAZEL was born on November 10, 1809 in Todd's Fork, Clinton Co., Ohio. He died on January 21, 1901 in Moorefield Twp, Clark, Ohio. !Clark County History 1881: Mr. Yeazel in now 71 years of age; has been a resident of this county and upon the same farm seventy years; has in connection with farming, dealt considerably with stock; has been a man of industry and integrity of character, and taken a live interest in schools and the public interests of his township and community. Hasw held the office of School Director twelve years, and Township Trustee four years.

x. Adam YEAZEL was born on November 25, 1807 in Clinton Co., Ohio. He died before 1881. !Clark County History 1905 - removed to Champaign County after his marriage, and died there leaving several children.

xi. Elizabeth YEAZEL was born on September 10, 1811 in Moorefield Twp, Clark Cty, Ohio. !Clark County History 1905 page 672 Elizabeth married Reuben Hinkle, of Hancock County, where she died leaving a family.

xii. Abraham YEAZEL was born on May 15, 1813 in Moorefield Twp, Clark Cty, Ohio. He died on March 4, 1887 in Champaign Co., Illinois. Clark County history 1905 page 672 - Abraham became a resident of Champaign County, Illinois, where his death occurred. (no children mentioned)

xiii. Sydney YEAZEL was born on February 6, 1815 in Moorefield Twp, Clark Cty, Ohio. !Clark County History 1905 page 672 Sydney became the wife of Thomas V. Crabill and is now a widow, living in Springfield Township. (No Children Mentioned)

xiv. James YEAZEL was born on March 2, 1817 in Moorefield Twp, Clark Cty, Ohio. He died on January 12, 1888 in Champaign Co., Illinois. Clark County History 1905 page 672 - James also went to Champaign County, Illinois, where he spent his remaining days and at his death left a family.

xv. Isaac YEAZEL was born on December 15, 1818 in Moorefield Twp, Clark Cty, Ohio. He died before 1854. !Clark County History 1905 page 672 - Isaac also removed to Champaign County, Illinois, where he reared his family and there died.
